I have been spending a lot of my spare time going to Stow Lake and drawing and observing nature on site. I have an incredible deep love for animals and been enjoying the waterfowl and other animals that inhabit the area. I have been taking Audubon drawing classes via zoom from John Muir Laws and have been studying his teachings very deeply. Here are a couple of practice studies from my sketchbook.

Sketching at Stow Lake
I was grateful to be able to enjoy this rare 97 degree day sketching on location at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. This beautiful stone bridge was erected in 1893 and I found the perfect spot to sketch it.
Stay Masked
My latest editorial illustration. While the novel coronavirus does not seem to be disappearing anytime soon, one of the most important things that we can continue to do, is to keep wearing a mask to stop the spread. I know this has been such a trying time for everyone but we will prevail and be stronger because of this unprecedented time.
Please vote come November!
Simple coloring of a sketch I did after voting in the March primary. Please vote come November! Positive change is desperately needed in our country!
Sunset at Clear Lake
I know it has been a long while since I have posted. Here is an illustration I just finished. The lake in this illustration is, Clear Lake and the mountain, Mt Konocti. I had a lot of fun painting the sky and playing with color in this piece.
A bull disguised in a bear market
My latest illustration depicting the Dow’s recent three day surge over 20% (the best stretch since 1933), signified the beginning of a new bull market but that definition should be treated with a large piece of caution.
Adam Schiff
Here is a self promotion editorial political illustration I just finished. The inspiration for this piece, comes from Adam’s Schiff’s impressive closing argument during the Trump trial. It was truly masterful. “Right matters and the truth matters. Otherwise, we are lost.” -Adam Schiff
Working away…
I have been enjoying the process of illustrating in Procreate and creating new illustrations. I never thought I would enjoy drawing digitally so much. Here is a peek at something I am currently working on.
Veganism and planting trees
This week I wrapped up an editorial class that I took from Make Art that Sells, that was taught by Lilla Rogers. The class was very informative and I learned a lot. I highly recommend their courses. It was full of so many talented individuals, each with a diverse style. For our final project, we had to illustrate an article encompassing how veganism and planting trees could help stop global warming. Here is my illustration depicting that article.
Optimism
Are you feeling optimistic about the new year and the new decade? I certainly am! I am SO excited about this year! I am working on a whole slew of new work plus taking classes to update my skills in the illustration world. My husband and I are planning a fun summer vacation to the east coast and as a lover of history, I am very excited to see some historic sites that have been on my bucket list. What are you excited about this year, this decade? Feel free to share in the comments below.
